Family friendly campsite just a stone’s throw from a beautiful sandy beach

Just back home after spending 5 nights at Bennar by the beach in our Campervan ,great campsite , great location , Paul the warden made us feel very welcome telling us also local Amenities, local attractions, facilities were very nice , really hot showers £1 for 6 minutes £15 per night for the campervan with electric hook up was an absolute bargain , we realise this is an off season special rate Would not hesitate to recommend this campsite and will definitely be returning next year

Great site, clean and well organised. Welcomed by Paul who made us welcome and informed of locations to visit and local eateries ! Tin shed showers & toilet were adequate, main showers block perfect. WHY do people allow dogs to yap/bark and Pee/Poo near your pitch while relaxing or eating a meal ? Next door site good for food, entertainment and serves a good Guinness.

If you crave a proper camping experience this place is the bomb. Park which ever way you like, no waiting to check-in, the facilities are clean, hot showers (£1 for 6 mins), perfect. We were blown away by the scenery, it has everything and if sitting soaking up the sun after a walk along the beach gets boring, you may catch a glimpse of some fighter jets dog fighting on the horizon. Not one negative comment to be made, it was just what we needed.

Five stars. Super campsite. Facilities absolutely immaculate at all times. Staff couldn't be more helpful. Great chilled atmosphere. We will be back.

Relaxing 2 night stay at this lovely dog friendly campsite. Perfect for walking on the beach. Stunning views all round.

Great little site with an amazing beach just a short walk away. Unfortunately only one shower working in both mens and ladies shower block so a bit of a wait in the morning. We had booked on for 10 nights camping but had to leave after 4 nights as mother nature was not in the best of moods.

Again a great three days at Bennar camp site. The people I met on site were very friendly. Great showers and toilets. And the beach and weather was fantastic

We found this site was everything we want in a campsite. We had 12hrs of rain on the second day, the field drained amazingly quickly. The facilities are ideal, the area is beautiful, and the beach is a steady 10minute stroll. Just wish people would clean up after their dogs but not the sites problem. We will be returning, the sunrises and sunsets blew us away. A very well cared for site. Well done guys 👍

Met Paul at entrance. He gave us all info on whats around. Clean facilities. £1 for shower. Lovely boarded walk to beach. Sharp drop in pebbles be careful. Can see for miles. Sunday went to countrymman inn on Dyffryn estate. Fabulous carvery. Weather bit blustery. Would be awesome in summer to chill & unwind

We stayed early September, 6th to 15th. and really enjoyed the relaxed attitude of the site. Everywhere is kept clean and tidy, its a good base for the whole of north and mid wales with plenty of interesting places to see. I found some amazing drives up onto Snowdonia and the views are absolutely incredible. All in all a very enjoyable experience that i wouldnt hesitate to repeat. I wiil be back soon.

Nice break lovely site left a day early due to weather. Toilet block and outside facilities were very good. Still can't understand why you charge £15 for 2 dogs though

What a site! We absolutely loved it. So accommodating to our dogs and put us on a pitch for minimal disturbance to others, as we didn’t want to make anyone uncomfortable with our XL Bully (even though she’s incredibly friendly). Bennar took our anxiety away and gave us a holiday of dreams. The facilities were clean and the showers were lush! We can’t wait to come back.

Site was very quite (Sept 12/13) we had a van & car so booked a tourer pitch, we had plenty of room. Showers (£1 6mins 1min to underdress before water starts) are warm & block is clean & tidy. All good for what we needed. Would recommend to all.

We arrived on the 10th of September and our plan was to stay till 15th, unfortunately storm Amy prevented us staying in our tent. Site is situated in a perfect position for the beach and close by is a pub and restaurant that you can use and a shop. Brilliant stay thank you Bennar.

Loved the site, location and cleanliness was great. Used the coded showers and paid the £1 as the other showers where a little small. Will definitely visit again and would recommend the location is prefect. See you soon x

Nice site very close to the beach. The porta loos are way too small. I had to sit sideways to use it so used the block near the pedestrian entrance. These were immaculate although only 2 showers and one wasn't working when we were there. For the price we paid per night it was worth the visit and I would definitely like to go again. (not during half term though as I think it would be busy 😀).

We were having a nice stay, enjoying the walks to the beach and relaxing with our dogs. Everything we needed on the site. Unfortunately the couple on the plot next to us arrived late at night and were very noisy constantly banging van doors and dogs barking. Next day their dogs were again constantly barking, the couple were shouting and using obscene language, after a full day of this we were glad we were leaving next morning. There was no site attendant to report this to at the times stipulated.

Just stayed here for 6 nights (tent with electric hook up) Everything we needed to know was on our confirmation email incl pitch number, ours was pitch107. We were aiming to put our tent lengthways but unfortunately it wasn't very level so we pitched sideways, not an issue really. The site was perfect for us, short 5 minute walk to a lovely beach, once you've passed the pebbles. They have indoor and outdoor showers and toilets. The outdoor toilets were very small, no problem though we either used the unisex toilet or walked a little further to the indoor ones. Didn't try the outdoor showers but they looked OK and the water was warm. The indoor shower is £1 coin for 6 mins, if you put 2 coins in its 12 mins. Both indoor and outdoor toilets and showers were very clean. There's 2 outdoor washing up sinks, and plenty water taps dotted about. There's on site rubbish bins at the entrance to the site, just split your rubbish for recycling. You'll need a torch to find your way to the facilities once it goes dark. We loved our stay, apart from the weather 🙄. This site was just what we were looking for, probably not to everyone's liking as some people seek perfection or moan at minor details. We will definitely return next year. Not in school holidays though as I imagine it would be very busy at these times.

Our second visit to Bennar was as great as the first. Would recommend it to all

Amazing campsite. So lovely and clean. Lovely big pitches. Showers and toilets were a little open to the elements but added to the experience plus there are luxury ones a little walk round the site. Right next door to the beach which is amazing - completely enclosed by sand dunes for those with reactive dogs. Very dog friendly if you turn right on entering the beach. There’s a shop and cafe a short walk at a neighbouring campsite which is open to non-residents of that site so very handy! We’ll definitely be back

Great quiet site near a wonderful long sandy beach

We really enjoyed our relaxing 4 night stay at Bennar. It was very quiet in September (apart from the winds!). Good, clean facilities and situated in a beautiful place. We would definitely stay again!

Well not visited for a very long time but must say it grew on us outside showers fine water warm but could do with extension so u can get undressed as i side to the very nice lady cleaning we stayed on pitch 48 could do with been little bit bigger caravan awning car bit tight something you could look at in winter we had fabulous stay will return so thankyou

Thank you Bennar for yet another fabulous holiday. This has to be the best campsite in North Wales and we are already looking forward to another stay with you next year.

Fantastic location all be it for the wind! Stone walls helped a little but did have to deconstruct our awning in the middle of the night ! As previous reviews state the toilets are tiny (like knees touching door and i'm 5ft 4!) and showers also. Impossible to get dressed in them once showered unless you don;t mind being soaked. When the wind is blowing they are very cold . Almost like an endurance test! However that said everywhere was very clean and pitch sizes adequate.

We had a wonderful 2 night stay at Bennar by the Beach. The location was perfect for exploring Snowdonia and is right on the most beautiful beach where we had a stunning sunset stroll. The campsite itself is great. Well spaced out pitches, clean and easily accessible facilities and a chilled and friendly vibe. The whole process was easy and we will definitely be back.

Just back from a wonderful weekend camping with the family. They're all grown up now, but it was great to spend quality time together, playing cards and reminiscing on past camping experience. The facilities were great, really clean and well maintained. The beach was beautiful our Granddaughter loved the walk up the troll bridge onto the sand all in all, Pitch perfect... thank you.

Sept 2025 - Just returned home from 5 nights at Bennar. Lovely campsite with great views and facilities. The site looks out over the mountains and is a short walk to the beach. There is a well stocked Spa with an award winning Butchers just up the road in the local village, where we were able to purchase different meats to cook for dinner and there is also an award winning Fish and Chip shop in Barmouth (around a ten minutes drive away) which had queues down the road (it’s that good). The site is also located around 30-40 minutes drive from the main parts of Snowdon/Beddgelert for anyone wanting to visit there or do some mountain walking. The pitches are a great size and we had room for a 4 man tent, shelter and the car. There is a free set of wooden outside showers, toilets, handwashing & washing up sinks (with hot water) in the middle of the site. There is a second set of new very clean toilets and showers with coded access inside a concrete block down the bottom of the site. These showers cost £1 for 6 minutes and are lovely and hot. There is also a second washing up sink here too, the only downfall is we had some really heavy rain at points and both washing up facilities are not covered and so we had to either wash up in the rain or wait for a break in the weather. Overall this is a lovely site and we will most definitely be booking again.

Lovely little site, nothing fancy but nice shower block. Ample washing up facilities. What is fabulous is the location, although quite remote, only a very short stroll from the beach and the sunset of an evening is beautiful. Holiday site across the road of which you are allowed to use the shop, restaurant etc. Campfires allowed of an evening. If you don't like hustle and bustle this is the perfect site.

First time stay just for one night at the end of August. Lovely location close to a beautiful sandy beach via a boardwalk over the sand dunes at the end of the lane. The amenity facilities are quite basic. Toilet cubicles are very small and made from corrugated tin and rustic wood doors, with gaps underneath and above. Limited privacy, drafty and cold. From 6PM until we left at 9AM the following morning, there was no loo paper. Be prepared! Washbasin and sink al-fresco. Showers basic and small. Not the standard you’d expect for £45 per night! There is another much larger touring campsite opposite with much better facilities including a mini supermarket and restaurant. Probably worth checking out as has the same proximity to Bennar beach.

Great location being near the beach - once one gets there in the caravan as road down is not for the faint hearted in certain places especially when there a lots of traffic going down to the beach! During the bank holiday the toilets and showers were really not very pleasant with a full site - much better after that. Each plot was a good size and there was a good feeling of space. Plenty of open space for dog walking going down to the beach which is lovely!

Weather was atrocious so we cut short our 4 night break to 2 nights. The site was ok, but as in most of North Wales far too expensive for what you get.

Second time we have used this campsite. Ideal location right next to the beach. Approximately 1 mile walk to the local railway station to catch a train into Barmouth. No worries trying to find car parking space in Barmouth. Another short walk to local grocery stores and butchers. All in all I would highly recommend.

Bennar Beach campsite whilst relatively small, packs a punch, with its friendly atmosphere, accessibility to the beach and the surrounding countryside. The pitches are generous in size, clean, are well maintained and all amenities are walkable. There are two wash/cleaning buildings that are well maintained and cleaned daily. Because of the size of the campsite, we only had to queue to wash up for a few minutes. The staff on site were friendly and full of useful local information. We will be returning!

Had a great 6 night stay in our tent with electric hook up. Pitch was generous size. Site was mostly quiet after 10pm - louder for longer on the weekend. The beach hut toilets/showers/washing up area for tents was quirky - could do with more room in the toilets/showers and additional sinks, and more hand soap needed. The other toilet block was fabulous! Excellent location with access to beach via boardwalk really enjoyed the sunsets at the beach.

Had a lovely time over the August bank holiday, the weather was beautiful, the site was in an excellent position, couldn't have been better

Stayed here two weeks ago and loved it that much we booked again last weekend. Perfect location & the attention to detail makes it the ideal spot for us. Can’t wait to come back!

Firstly the location is absolutely perfect Location to the beach along a boardwalk is 5 minutes .. The campsite pitch perfect lots of room and electric hook up was great . The facilities in the field the individual toilet wooden block was very small if you are 5ft 10 you squeezed in to shut the door , the washing dish area maybe another one next to it due to amount of waiting to wash up The shower facilities in the locked (keypad) where amazing very modern and clean , feedback to look at is the keypad on both ladies/men's door it took numerous attempts to get in we turned it to the left put in code nothing we pulled /pushed door nothing it took 5 attempts of not really knowing how it opened its probably a maintenance task that needs looking at The camp was very relaxing and the noise completely dropped at 10pm as requested The views of the mountains spectacular We loved our stay and would definitely return.

Lovely site , well spaced pitches .toilets and showers have been upgraded and very clean, with more added more central on the site.

Had a great week at Bennar Beach. Facilities are great (very "snug" in the 'blue loos") but nice and clean, plenty of hot water and the location is spot on with an easy 5/10 mins walk to a glorious beach. Its a friendly site, quite busy and sometimes the pitching of tents seemed to be too close with no distance at all between. Overall we loved it and will be back again.

Just came back from a 6 day stay in our campervan. Had a fantastic time. Great site. Beach so close, samdy and flat, had lovely sunsets every night. Plenty to do in the area. Would definitely go again. Thank you for having us xxx

We had an exceptional week regards the weather which made everything perfect. Had it been wet x cold there would have been a few issues. As its relatively new and in development our comments should be seen as supportive ...not disgruntled! Outdoor shower / toilet units ...bit on the skimpy size , especially if there's a slight breeze the shower curtain sticks to you 🫣 Based on the number of pitches there's just too few of them for peak times! Washing up area 1 sink allocated at each block....again just not enough, we ended up keeping everything for one big washup....which then takes longer. Easy solution turn sink unit and place another back to back. No cover so again would be at mercy of weather ....in fact it was there that I felt the sun burning me the most 🥵 Bus / train local info would have helped especially for those who are wanting to switch off tech . Highlighting best routes. Especially as there's a very hands off approach to the campsite. Yes plenty of ways to get hold of you , and real friendly chap doing 'warden' duties. Folk arrived without a booking and as there was no presence they drove on to next site. Wishing you all the best

This is a lovely quiet campsite with amazing views. Beach is a short few minutes walk and it's stunning. Only downside is a limited number of toilets and size of them - standard toilet is almost impossible to sit on as your legs as pushing against the doors.

It's a shame we can't put photos on review.... Lovely site. Campervans, tents one side, caravans on the other. We were campervan side. So much space. Lovely mountain views. Short walk through site, beach carpark then onto a lovely boardwalk which led to the beach. Stoney at first but then down to sand and sea. The sand dunes, well they were impressive. We got lost in the nature reserve on our 2nd day lol but then up and over the large sand dunes to a very long almost empty beach (considering middle of school summer holidays). Amenities nicely close, large unisex toilet, 1 female toilet, handwash with a beautiful mountain view when you look in the mirror lol, male toilet, pot wash area, 2 showers. ( Another block located in caravan area.) We like to travel around different places for our holidays but will definitely recommend Bennar to family & friends.

Second summer here. Absolutely amazing views and beach and campsite. Faculties and good. And you can have a off the ground fire pit . Which makes it a proper camping experience. Feel helpful and understanding staff in are situation. Thankyou. See you next year.

The good stuff: Fantastic location, well-designed pitches with clear edges marked out. Very nice indoor shower/toilet block, locked against public use - £1 for 6 mins seems reasonable. Free outdoor showers/toilets were nearer for us and actually enjoyed using the showers. Lovely hot water. Soap provided even for the outdoor sink. The not so good: Ended up only using the accessible toilet - the other 'outdoor' cubicles are ridiculously short, no room to sit. Also, the light is broken above the sink. Nobody around in the evening (nor most of the day) so a couple of nights the 10pm silent time was ignored. No freezer for ice packs.

I came 4 years ago and was impressed by the improvements done. Lovely place, nearly on the beach. Very friendly team. Only criticism would be that the shower rooms are a bit on the small size and the £1 charge for the showers should be scrapped and included in the camping fee.

A nice easy 10 minute walk to the beach. The lane is a bit narrow in places but obviously go steady and all is fine. A useful carpark further up the road (closer to the beach) reasonably priced at £3.00 for 4 hours. Lovely clean facilities, the staff were friendly and helpful. Fantastic views of the mountains, and as it was dark also get very good vision of the night sky, we could even see the Milky Way! My only niggle would be lack of space in the toilet block by the office, very small.

Had a lovely stay. The pitch good. It was in the shade which helped keep the caravan cool during our stay as the weather was hot hot hot! No tv signal but it didn't bother us as we were going to bed at 10pm as our granddaughter was with us and she went to bed early and slept 11 hours a night! It was first time she had been to the beach and she absolutely loved it! Running along boardwalk will stay with me forever! Only negative was that on the last night the pitch next door were a little loud till 12pm. But we just put up with it as our granddaughter slept through it in the awning, my daughter who was also in the awning wasn't impressed though! If we hadn't been leaving that day we would've complained as it was a little inconsiderate as they could see we had a small child with us. We're unsure whether we would return as we scratched our car on the narrow lane on the way home as there was a large branch sticking out that we hadn't noticed and we had to tuck in to let cars by, but we probably will as we had a great beach holiday!

We had spot very nr path to beach only couple minutes walk. Toilets and shower very clean peacefull also. Would come again

What a lovely site. First time here. Lovely clean site. Nice and quiet. As advertised, 5 mins to beach, 20 min walk to train station for 2 hourly train to Barmouth, 10 mins to shop, pub and chop shop. Perfect.

My stay at campsite was a short one.With the written instructions telling you to pitch at your allocated number shown on a board at the entrance ,was helpful. The campsite rules were adhered too,which made for a restful night sleep. The amenities were spot on for what you need.The location was beautiful with the hills as back drop. Ample pitch space. A good experience.

Lovely site. Came here as a young child and always wanted to come back. Facilities lovely and clean. My partner who doesn't do sand or sea will only now come here. short walk to the beach, sand dunes still as I remember. Thanks for a lovely couple of days x

Beach , beach ,beach, it’s so close and so lovely , just a short walk from the site and amazing sunsets ! The pitch was perfect under some tree cover, spotless toilets and showers , nothing to fault at all . All quiet at 10 was lovely, with a gentle hum of chatting campers from the tent field it had a great atmosphere.

A really lovely family friendly site, fantastic facilities although the single toilets are on the small side and you need a torch for night time visits! Nice and clean and very friendly. Short walk down to Bennar beach well worth a sunset visit.

Lovely campsite overall with an easy walk to the beach and great facilities. Despite being busy we still had plenty of space. Lots of young families about.

We absolutely love this site. We have visited many times over the years. Each time we visit there have been new improvements which is lovely to see. Unlike other campsites, the owners clearly use the camping fees to improve facilities and enhance the camping experience. We left yesterday and booked again immediately for next week. Spotless, friendly, comfortable and perfectly situated. Both us and the children get so excited when we pack the car and head off to our paradise place. We will never camp anywhere else 👌

The second time we have stayed and made great memories at the site. A great atmosphere and noise stops at a reasonable hour so its really respectful. Lovely to wake up and stroll on the beach with the dog before spending the day in the sea with my wife and kids. We.will be back

Wow, what a fantastic find. My wife and I stayed here in our 8.5m tag axle Motorhome in a non electric pitch. We had a fantastic time and it is a 2 minute walk to the beach. The facilities at this site are a little sparse, but just a short walk away, a neighbouring site has a fully stocked shop, bar and Fish and Chip shop. We would definitely return.

We have just left. What a lovely place. Myself, husband, 2 kids and puppy all loved it. Your allocated your plot number before you go, so no need to check in, you just go to your number and set up. The toilets and wash room are fine. There are small toilet and shower cubicles in the middle of the site, these are very small but we were told that's due to planning permission, so id rather have small than none. The block of toilets and showers at the end of the site are lovely, warm and always stocked with toilet roll and hand wash. The showers are a £1 but the free ones are great, so we didn't use these ones. The beach is just a short walk away and is beautiful. Fab waves for the kids to jump. Lovely sand dunes for the dog and kids to run around. Shop, pub and chip shop just a short walk away on the camp site next door, we only went to the shop and that was great. The warden was great and made us feel welcome. We will definitely be returning.

We've had a lovely few days at Bannar with the grandchildren, lovely clean site toilets, showers and short stroll to a fantastic beach what more could you ask for other than somewhere to freeze my freezer blocks...top site..

Really lovely campsite. Well kept, I loved the outdoor showers which were clean and the water was hot. Toilets were spotless, pitches really large and well spaced out. Great access to an amazing beach and sand dunes and only 5 mins to the village shop or the General Store at the site next door. Will definitely be back.

We were sorry to leave… and we’ve weathered a storm, a leaking tent and also had glorious sunshine Bennar is a fab place with a great vibe , it feels safe ( great warden) and friendly , it’s clean .. love the outdoorsy showers and the luxury of the indoor ones (well worth a £1!) both top quality .. the loos, the washing up sinks always clean, never out of loo roll. Not to mention the beach at the end of the road , which has bathing quality water and is also spotless and dog friendly-to the right- so the whole family can enjoy We used the shop at the neighbouring campsite which stocked most things and the Co-op in Barmouth for a ‘proper’ shop Just fab Definitely will be back !

A great site to visit and Paul the manager was really friendly and helpful. it is in a good location next to the beach, what more do you need! . It is quiet and the toilet/shower block is clean and regularly serviced. Dyffryn pub is good just down the road, and Barmouth Holiday Park for a good walk, Fish and Chips or a really nice bar.

This is the second year we have camped at Bennar. It is a lovely little site, a great location for stunning sand dunes and beach. They were very accommodating for our group and arranged for us to be camped together... thanks... see you next year:)

Everything at site was as advertised, the facilities were clean, and an excellent location for the beach.

I love this site it is definitely on my top 5 list. the customer service is fantastic. we had to change the dates by a day this was done quickly with no problems. the site is amazingly clean with some of the nicest toilet / shower facilities I've used. There is even an outdoor shower for dogs, showering down beach equipment, feet etc. we were positioned on pitch 27 which is right at the back near the gate to the beach which was wonderful. the site was very quiet where we were that quiet that with the back doors open in the evening you could hear the sea 🙂 the beach is lovely. it's clean, the sea wasn't too rough so great for the kids and there weren't many people on. We enjoyed an entire day of sand castle making, swimming and enjoying the fresh air. we even came back with the dingy the next evening. My only small gripe was the inconsiderate people on the public car park. One early in the morning playing very loud music then the next day two ladies holding a PT session whilst shouting their life problems so the whole site could hear at 7.30 am. (this is not the sites fault just a bit annoying) I will defiantly be back next year it is defiantly worth the drive. Thank you

I had no issues at all during my stay, the location to the beach was absolutely perfect, just a short walk and the beach was perfect. The pitch on the site was spacious , from the back of my pitch I had great views of the hills. In general the site offered little more or little less than many of the other sites I have stayed on, not sure if I missed another toilet block but I feel mor facilities would have been good, on each time I went to use the toilet I needed to wait as I did when wanting to use the shower, I am aware there are facilities near the camping field but perhaps a little too social and compact for my personal taste. I would possibly stay again if in the area but as someone who often travels alone the £40 per night cost the site didn't offer good value in my personal case. Please don't find my remarks a criticism but an observation for my personal needs

The site was very over crowded. Pitch we were allocated was right next to the path entrance to the beach so was noisy with the gate clanking all the time. Very poor facilities. Not enough toilets or showers. Very noisy at night. Beach was lovely but won't be returning as way to noisy

Lovely quiet site. We arrived out of office hours but the site Warden was there. He was so helpful. The site is very nicely laid out and the facilities are very clean and tidy. Exactly what you'd like to see. It's a five minute walk to the beach and there's a pub restaurant, chippy and general store are also less than a 10 min walk. Would definitely stay again

Had a great first stay at Bennar and would definitely return! Great site for a big group of us, lovely walk to the beach and a good walk to the Ysgethin Inn for food. Showers were great- no complaints at paying £1 for the nicer shower block.

4 th stay this year beautiful and quiet great clean facilities

Great stay! Modern and very cleanly facilities on site, plenty to do in surrounding areas, and easy access to the beach! One of the owners even popped round one evening to see how we were enjoying our stay and was very friendly and welcoming. Would recommend any campers to give Bennar a go.

We have been coming to this site a very long time and were nervous about the now stricter pitching guides. The pitch size is plenty big enough for our large 6 man tent and a wind brake and our Land Rover. We had an issue with the allocated pitch as we arrived to pitch as someone had pitched in our space. The owner did manage to sort it out so we didn’t need to move our fully pitched tent. I would prefer to arrive and chose the best pitch for us. That said - I will absolutely return here. It is calm, relaxing and you are surrounded by vast views of the mountain range and snowdon on a clear day. You can hear the waves crashing on the very close beach just a beautiful walk away. The new facilities are such a vast improvement and maintained well and kept clean. I look forward to seeing any additional facilities to the “wild” camping field in future.

Very clean and quiet place. All facilities kept in high hygiene standards. Few steps to the beach. Strongly recommended and we will back for sure.

Just what I wanted. One of the calmest, well kept sites I’ve been on in a perfect location.

After a minor hiccup, with our pitch taken by another camper we were allocated another pitch . The staff went out of their way to get us sorted out. We had a wonderful time and the camp was very good. The only thing that I can point out was that there was nobody on site to rectify mishaps and to welcome guests to the camp . Besides that it was very clean and pleasant . We will definitely be back in the future.

Great campsite by the beach.Lovely big pitches in the camping field with plenty of space in the middle. Choose from £1 showers in a building or one of the cabin style ones for free ( tip: put your clothes in a plastic bag to hang on the inside of door behind the shower curtain to keep dry).The toilets and showers were always clean. Plenty of walks from the site, we followed the road up and visited the burial chambers and up along the river. The sea was warm enough for swimming and the massive beach was very clean and great for dogs.

One night stay was brilliant; loved having the beach so close and facilities were clean/ everything we needed. Beautiful campsite and calm and quiet. Will definitely revisit.

Another lovely stay at Bennar, toilets and showers cleaned every day, always plenty of hot water even the sea was warm. Hope to be back again in August. Russ

Just spent the bank holiday at Bennar Campsite and had a really lovely stay. Great facilities, friendly site manager and the location…fantastic! Love the short walk to a fab beach, kids and grown ups very happy with our stay and will definitely stay again! Highly recommended!

Beautiful place! Location was amazing. Staff were friendly. Facilities were clean. Few mins walk to the beach. My sons and I had a wonderful time. Made some lifelong memories. Will be booking again for sure! Highly recommend.

Wow! What a find. Five stars. It’s basically a self service, self policing site with friendly staff from 10-10.30am each day, but it’s spotless! Always hand soap, toilet roll and very clean and tidy. Online booking an instructions are very good. Basically like a hotel booking system, but it sends pitch details and directions in the email so no need to wait at an office to the. Get the same info. Much better! Pitches (we camped in a tent) are very large and not too far from the beach. We even watched a Tesco delivery van rock up and deliver food to a family tent. It seen that before! Views of the mountains are spectacular, and enjoyed the hot outdoor shower whilst watching the sunset was amazing. Yep, my new favourite place to camp. A little pop up shop and perhaps lockers to charge phones (seen that abroad) would be a fantastic addition for things like milk, ice and wood for the fire pits etc. we will return

During the booking process my queries were sorted very quickly. The campsite was very clean and tidy. The showers and toilets were always clean. The new toilets were a little small but ok. The location is great for the beach

Our first experience at camping. 2 night stay booked, non electric. Plot was clearly marked and relatively flat. We used the outdoor toilet and shower facilities and found them to be very clean. Short walk to beach. All in all a wonderful first camping experience, will definitely return.

Very quiet and peaceful, great value for money, nice staff and just a 5min walk to the beach which was great for us and our boxer dog. Will be returning.

Our first experience of touring in our camper van was definitely enhanced by this lovely campsite. Very convenient for the beach and local facilities, beautiful setting and well maintained and run. Agree the toilet cubicles are short on space but all the other facilities were really good. We had a great few days and hope to go back in the autumn.

Wonderful campsite with great beach access with 5 minutes walk. Toilet and shower block was clean and well maintained. Very helpful owner came out to me at short notice when I needed a jump-start. Very peaceful at night and very little light pollution means excellent views of the night sky. Will definitely be returning.

Beautiful quiet site with lots of facilities and close to a fantastic beach. It is very clean, flat pitches and and inviting. Is nestled in a quaint part of Ffordd Bennar with lovely views across the fields towards the hills.

What a wonderfully relaxed campsite. Very friendly, clean and well managed. Excellent location to beach, pub, shop and chippy. Not far from Barmouth too. The beach is amazing. Will be back x

Lovely quiet, clean site with access to the stunning beach.

The campsite was a perfect location for the beach The site was incredibly quiet which suited us The accessibility to the site next doors shop was so handy The facilities down the bottom end of the field were clean the showers lasted for 6 minutes getting changed and dressed again wasn't the easiest thing to do The toilets and showers at the top end of the field even though they are clean have to be the most ridiculously small cubicles I've ever seen, they are even too small for a child Who ever designed them and approved them???

This is the 2nd stay at Bennar, on bother occasions it was quiet, clean and I felt safe as a solo traveller. The facilities are very clean with hot water available for washing up, hand washing and showers. The toilets are clean if a little short on knee space. Beautiful views all around. Even the waste area was clean and tidy.Only down was the shower was a bit hot for me, but such a tiny niggle.

A lovely clean and quiet site located next to a dog friendly beach with modern and clean facilities, well cut grass and just a short walk to a small store selling basic groceries and supplies. Wonderful backdrop of Welsh hills and beyond. Amongst our top 5 sites of all time (and we’ve been camping for 38 years)

Unfortunately my proposed 4 night stay was reduced to 1 night due to an accident I met offsite resulting in 4 nights in hospital instead. However I was very happy with what I experienced of the site especially in relation to its proximity to the beach where I witnessed a beautiful sunset over the bay. Following the accident they were very accommodating and helpful in making my misfortune as trouble free as possible. I was able to return at the end of the eeek to my vehicle and kit in safe hands. I was also offered a voucher for the full cost of the trip and look forward to returning to enjoy the rest of my planned trip. Very helpful and understand of my plight.

Sorry for the late review, but we found Bennar, by accident last October when we pitched up for 4 nights in our RV, 2 dogs and a cat! The site itself was amazing and we loved the dog shower, though we didn’t use it ourselves! The location was perfect. A easy stroll to the incredible beach that the dogs adored. The scenery was amazing, wild and rustic in the October weather. The site owner Rowie (I think that’s her name) was so friendly and accommodating. We are planning on going back there in August and really looking forward to it. Highly recommended.

What a really nice place to stay. Easy access to the beach. Easy walks to the nature areas. Have 2 lots of toilets and showers. Which is very handy when busy. Kept very tidy. Only downside there no shop onsite you have to go up the road. Wouid recommend going 10/10. 😁

Lovely campsite. We came away for my mums birthday for the weekend with our two dogs. We booked two pitches for our two campers. Quiet site with spotless facilities. We will/would return and recommend to others looking to stay in the area.

3rd visit beautiful campsite , sadly a 3 night stay was cut to 1 night due to an awful weather forecast. We hope to return soon.

Absolutely lovely place and well worth the long drive from Salford. Site is lovely nice and clean with everything you need and very friendly site warden very helpful. Unfortunately on my visit started raining badly on arrival and lasted throughout my stay. Still loved it, recommend it and will definately be returning 10/10

Best site I have stayed at. Not too busy easy walk to an amazing beach, views of mount Snowdon. All basic amenities catered for. Definitely booking again. Highly recommended

We enjoyed our stay at Bennar by the beach site. we stayed in a Campervan with electric hookup which was fine. The toilet block is great, well presented and kept with lovely showers that are great value at £1 for 6 minutes, easy to use and nice and warm. The toilets are very clean and the washbasins are also nice with hot water. What is not so good is that the washing up station is completed exposed outside the toilet block with no cover or shelter from the elements. This is not good although the water is hot. The same cannot be said for the other washing up station by the outside toilets and showers closer to the office and entrance to the site. The water for washing up ran hot for about 3 seconds then ran cold and wasn't useable for washing up. Again the sink is completely exposed to the elements with no cover or protection at all. The toilets and showers here are wooden structures with corrugated roofs and sides, we avoided these in favour of the much better, warmer and more private toilet/shower block. When we raised the issue via the WhatsApp link posted on the office door of the water at the washing up sink running cold water someone responded and attended very quickly which was good but as we didn't use the sink again I'm not sure whether the cold water issue was resolved. Not a bad site at all, we would stay here again.

Lovely position but not enough toilet facilities. Had to walk half way across the site to use the main toilets. Don't know how bad this gets in high season but I just found it annoying.

Furst time for us. Lovely campsite. Clean amenities. Short walk to the beach with lovely coastal walks.

What a fabulous place to have a relaxing get away in the campervan. Thank you team Bennar for sorting a couple of niggles out to make this the best possible holiday for us. We will be back in September and can't wait because we really didn't want to leave. Everyone visiting the site were so friendly and the site is in a perfect location close enough to everything for exploring and days out but also far enough away for peace and tranquility and with the beach so close it was perfect for us and the pooch. Thank youuuu.

On the recommendation of a friend, we made our first visit to Bennar beach campsite last week in our motorhome - and loved it!! Great facilities, helpful staff and easy access to a marvellous beach. The whole environment was quiet, peaceful and put us in touch with Nature. Our dogs really enjoyed their holiday and also endorse this review 😀

Lovely site , great location site is clean and tidy and quiet . The site is very open and close to beach for dogs walks . We didn’t venture down to the local pubs as we drove into Barmouth but great location for all . My only problem was I lost my email with all my booking info on so did t no codes for the shower block but the people were fantastic and helped straight away overall 5star highly recommend

Lovely 5 days there. Weather could have been kinder but did not reflect on our enjoyment. Site had large pitches plenty of room to spread out. Staff welcoming and extremely helpful. Didn’t use showers or toilets as self contained. Dish washing area clean and plenty of hot water. Only downside, no drive over grey waste. Will definitely go back

What a fabulous place to stay. The staff are more than happy to help with anything. It's a peaceful place with a gorgeous beach next door. The free showers are excellent on a hot day and the ones for £1 are just the thing on a cold rainy day. I'd highly recommend this site and will definitely be returning myself.

Great place. Well organised, clean, well maintained facilities. Amuch higher standard than expected. A few things dissapointed a bit, 1/. Campsite toilets, the cubicles are tiny, I could not sit down without my knees wedged against the door. I had to resort to using the disabled toilets. 2/ I was in pitch 104, the road into the camp runs parralel with the wall and the pitches. Friday night and Saturday there was all sorts of boy racers charging up and domn the road with very loud engines. Some speed bumps are needed. Those 2 things are not the end of the world and I would definetly stay again,

We had a lovely few days at Bennar.We used to stay regularly when our children were younger and have many happy memories. We were pleased to see that the facilities have been improved, tho do wish the new showers and loos were just a bit bigger. Perfect location though,and very relaxing. Thank you.

A great site and a great location. Very clean and the facilities are good. My pitch was excellent. I bet I can't pull that off again! The lady who works there was very helpful and moved the camper van that had parked on my pitch by mistake. All on all a great place and once the wind had dropped very quiet!!!

We had a wonderful break here . The campsite is peaceful , clean and tidy with good facilities , easy to find your pitch thanks to a great map of the site. Good access road even for larger vehicles. A gentle stroll , under 10 minutes on a boardwalk through the dunes gets you to a sandy beach from where you can walk miles in either direction. Sadly left a day earlier than booked , as rain forecast, and there is no fun in packing away a wet tent! Overall a great laid back campsite that we will definitely return to whenever we can xxx

Nice laid back site close to beach and other bigger site with shop. It was incredibly windy when I was there and the wooden cubicle showers were a bit hit and miss.. the shower head is just by a gap in the corrugated iron so the water was Driven against my hanging towel and clothes😂 the shower curtain offered no protection so maybe box the top up or get a better shower curtain. But hey I am camping so it was better than nothing! All in all a nice break for 2 nights despite the wind🤣

We stayed for 10 nights in June and only got 2 days of sun! So, rather than it be a relaxing beach holiday, we went out and about exploring & walking. There is so much to do in that area. The campsite is easy to get to and beautifully maintained. The toilet block was immaculate at all times & the shower water a perfect temperature. The location is a dream. Just a lovely boardwalk through the sand dunes and you are on a perfect wide sandy beach with practically no one else there. We will definitely be back

Hi , we had a lovely time here , such a peaceful site . Unfortunately we have had to cut our second week short and left this morning. Just had our first visit and won’t be our last fabulous beach , so clean and same with the site. If you like peace and quiet it’s the place for you , very relaxing. Only 2 minor issues , the push buttons on the toilet block gets everybody trying to fathom it out as no numbers on it. The open toilets at the top end , not much room to sit on the loo when you shut the door you have to sit legs astride to be able to close the door. Apart from that we really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be returning!

Our second visit to Bennar and it did not disappoint. unfortunately the weather was not as kind this time but the spectacular location made up for it! We decided this time that having tried the free showers last time (and found them small) we would pay the £1 for the locked shower block.. wow was that worth it! Nice and HOT and you got plenty of time for the £1. Our only negative and no fault of the site itself was that many cars now automatically activate full beam when you lock and unlock the vehicle. The people opposite us were back and forth to their cars all evening (well after dark) and every time they did we got blinded by the headlights. Just worth considering how you park and how your lights will affect others.

Bennar is a brilliant campsite. The location is amazing- the beach is a couple minute walk and there is lots of walks from here along the beach/dunes. It’s also close to Barmouth I cycled there (on a e bike) and it was very easy to get to. The general area is beautiful. The campsite is nice, the toilets were nice and always pretty clean. I actually liked the showers in the sort of outside buildings as was lovely with the breeze and the sun!

We stayed for a four day break from the 9th of June and we had a wonderful stay despite the weather on one of the day. We tested out our camper for the first time and awning and it stood the coastal winds which were 40 mph. The facilities are nice and clean and a bonus for me is hot running water to wash up things and hot showers for free. There are luxury showers for a small fee if needed but we were happy with hot water in the free ones. The only thing is the cubical for the toilets is quite small however there is one larger one which I used that addressed this. The coast is a short walk and lovely sandy beaches, which we even got a suntan and saw dolphins in the sea fantastic. The site is great for electric hook up and nice and flat, nice a clean and really friendly fellow campers. We will most definitely stay and visit again soon. Thanks a bunch Jo 7 Conrad xx

This was our second time staying at Bennar by the beach and we loved it even more than last time. It is such a magical spot. there's a short walk by a boardwalk to a big beautiful beach and in the evening it is a excellent spot for watching the sunset over Cardigan Bay. Thank you we'll be back.

Having not been there for couple of years we found it very refreshing that the porta loos have been replaced with proper loos both the free and 1 pound showers are lovely as are the toilet facilities we thought it was good value for money with good size and well spaced pitches would definitely stay again and would recommend So all that is left to say is Thank you

A lovely stay on a great site. Nice big pitch with the beautiful Bennar beach a short walk away. The toilet block was always clean and the showers were worth the £1 always hot and lasted a long time.We would definitely recommend to friends and hopefully return one day.

We have just got home after spending 5 nights at Bennar. What a wonderful, clean, and quiet site just perfect for us. Five minutes walk to the beach which goes on for miles and we got to watch the beautiful sunsets too. If you are lucky you also get to see the dolphins swimming by. The site has clean showers and toilets, the only slight downside was the two small toilets near to the entrance which are not practical if you are tall or have issues with your knees. There are however other toilet and shower facilities on site. Totally recommend and hoping to go back soon

We had a great couple of days on your site. The facilities were very clean.Very peaceful, we loved the beach a short walk away. Unfortunately missed the dark sky experience due to it being misty but will return. Many thanks

Booked a couple of days before. The website looked good, ideal location with the beach a small walk away, then started to read some unfavourable reviews, How misleading people can be, I got my pitch number with the welcome email, turned up, straight to my pitch, the site was not very busy, but been a Monday was to be expected.A large pitch, well marked out. I was on pitch 125 (next to drinking water tap). a small walk (30yds) to the toilet and showers.(idea). Their was a bin/rubbish area by main enterance which i believe was empted evry day by outside firm.For the 3 nights we stopped, we were never botherd, we saw staff litter picking around vacated pitches. Clean well kept site. For the £15 a night with electric, Where else could you book at that price ? Shell island down the road over twice that price without electric. I got a family member to come up to us to stop the night and they were able to book in same day, Very accommodating. I've been camping/caravarning for 40yrs+ and truley think this is a gem, 5 stars ***** for my visit. If you could find fault with anything, the only thing missing was a map board showing feature of the site, ares for rubbish, showers, things like that, like I said 5 stars

We had the best of times at Bennar by the Beach campsite. It was our first time in a motorhome and we loved the location, the facilities and a warm welcome despite it blowing a hooly when we arrived. Easy access to the beach and we took a lovely train ride into Barmouth for a day of glorious sunshine. All in all a fantastic few days. Mike & Marie 🙂

campsite is ok, I wanted to book a place without electricity but I couldn't because supposedly all the places were taken, I was lied to because there were free places!!! I didn't use the electricity and I paid for it! I don't recommend this policy of the manager of this campsite

We took advantage of the June midweek offer and stayed for 3 night for £35 (no EHU). We were very impressed with the site and its location. We will most definitely return, loved it 🙂

A great campsite in a fabulous location with a stunning beach on the doorstep. The site was good. I was a bit concerned to start with as I’d seen my allocated pitch was next to the bins and recycling. BUT the pitch was great and the bins were very organised and hidden from view. The main showers were £1 but plenty of hot water. The block was well maintained and very clean. It was very peaceful but I was there in June before the school holidays. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a campsite in Tal-Y-Bont. 😊

I do not recommend this expensive campsite! And only a 5 year old child can sit comfortably in the toilet because an adult cannot fit

One of the best campsites that we have been to. It is basic with some outdoor showers and toilets, but with a few luxuries too. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and enjoyed the beach.

Great camping place. Owner very helpful and down to earth. Lovely place for scenery. Local to Barmouth and Harlech. Lovely beach

Lovely campsite in beautiful spot. Ideal for village, beach and railway station. Only criticism would be the toilet and shower cubicles near the touring field. Whilst they were very clean had they been just a touch bigger I may have been able to sit on the toilet without having my knees up against the door. My wife had the same issue and we are both under 6 feet tall. I realise that there was another toilet block at the far end of the 2nd field which was superb but not as conveniently placed. All in all we would definitely return.

Four lovely nights spent. Easy booking, no actual check in to do as 9 x 9 meter plots allocated and key codes given prior to arrival, all nice plots too. Lovely informative staff. Fantastic dog friendly beach with access for less mobile via boardwalk. There is a river leading to the beach just around a few dunes from this site. Chippy on Dyffryn Park (next door) with pub and shop both dog friendly. 30 min walk to train £8.60 return for two to Barmouth (lovely town with decent beaches, fantastic views and plenty of pubs). A lovely site, quiet and peaceful with all we needed. Spotless loos and showers. Lovely beach within walking distance and a train nearby. We were so lucky with the weather. We’ll be back soon!!

We would like to give bennar 5 out of 5 for what they have done for us at are last stay. Unfortunately my son in law became very ill towards the end of are stay. Paul the care taker went above and beyond helping with the situation with son in law . We were able to leave the trailer tent to pick it up in a few days time, thanks very muchfor your support , from Mr Heath , we already love this site and will be back

Our recent campervan trip at Benner camp site was fantastic. Very friendly staff, excellent well looked after facilities and in an ideal location to enjoy the beautiful beach and scenery both out at sea and inland. We were lucky with the weather too. Will visit again! May 2025

First time on the pitches alongside the dog walk field. Nice and quiet but shame about losing late afternoon sun from shade off high branches on trees. Online booking is simple. We enjoyed camping at this quiet, family friendly campsite just by the beach. Camping easy to book online, and pitch number emailed in advance. Easy to find, clearly marked pitch. We liked how it included space for extra items e.g. a little sun shelter at no extra cost. Great location a short walk to a lovely sandy coastline. Our toddler son loved the beach, and enjoyed watering the planters with his watering can at the campsite too 🙂 thank you 🙂

A beautiful campsite in a stunning location. Pitches are a good size. The outdoor facilities are lovely, but the toilet cubicles are absolutely tiny. The site facilities could do with being cleaned more often, such as the outdoor showers. I wouldn't recommend the pub on the caravan park next door, unless Shameless is your vibe.

Lovely site with the most amazing views. Lovely beach a short walk away and great for dog walks across the sand dunes. Another campsite close by allows you to use their shop and bar. Only downside is that all contact re booking/parking area etc was done via the Internet...no personal contact with owners or wardens when arriving/staying / leaving....just seemed abit impersonal!!

We had a lovely 2 night stay at this canpsite. Very close and easy access to a beautiful beach - a lovely place to watch the sunset. The location of this site and beach access is the best feature. The facilities were very clean. We had beautiful weather and enjoyed the outside feeling of the facilities. The toilets and showers are very difficult to manoeuvre in - after showering, we had to get dressed outside.

Lovely stay at Bennar Beach. I had a flat site for my microcamper. The toilets and showers were clean although they were quite small except for the designated male and female one which was much larger. Lots of hot water for the shower which was free. Beautiful views of the surrounding hills with fairly easy access to the beach. Thank you, will definitely come again.

Reading previous reviews I was hesitant on booking but I'm glad I did it was clean friendly close to beach and can use the shop /bar on next door site . Showers were great (the £1 ones) others showers were not so good along with the toilets could do with a bit more space I'm small under 5foot and my knees were on the door. Defo worth a visit and I will be back in a few weeks 😀

What a lovely campsite and WOW the beach just a short walk away is incredible! We had a wonderful stay. The site is spotless and communication with the Bennar team was easy. Showers near the camping field are on the snug side an extra enclosed sheltered area in front of each shower would make the process of undressing & drying easier...but they do the job and it's not a complaint. We will definitely be back and hopefully very soon!

Not to shore if the site was for us the next morning moved pitch excellent helpful warden (Paul) all sorted enjoyed it so much stayed an extra night beach short walk beautiful. Camp site opposite site use of shop bar and restaurant available to none residents. Many thanks to all staff.

Had a wonderful few days stay at Bennar May 5th - 9th and will be booking again for a stay in June. The site is very clean, facilities are spotless and just a short walk through the dunes to the beach.

Definitely coming back! Enjoyed the space for camping, it was enough for our family of 3, had space to play as site is big enough to have a run, play football. Was really peaceful and people on site was really nice. Campsite on other side was definitely not as good, passed there and was smell of weed all the time which we were so happy that on this campsite families were nice and friendly! A bit disappointed with toilets as there is no space, it is really small toilet, although there is one bigger toilet which my son used as it was more comfortable. It was windy and shower is open cubicle so was freezing as wind was coming all the time. Really close to the beach, we walked to village as well which was longer walk but we absolutely enjoyed! Enough bins provided so it was closed and there was no smell coming from bin area, which is great. All campsite was really well looked after and clean! Overall really enjoyed, only minus was small toilets and shower.

Had a wonderful stay, will definitely be back for another visit! Site was clean and had good facilities and the location was perfect. The only thing I would suggest, especially as we go into the hotter months would be too have a cheap chest freezer available all day long so ice packs can be refreshed now than once a day.

Campsite was lovely and clean. Children loved the place. Definitely going to try book again for summer holidays as our trip got cut short due to having to leave half way through due to bad weather and having problems with our tent which was very disappointing but couldn’t be helped.

We had a wonderful stay at Bennar. Admittedly we made use of an amazingly low priced promotion but we have already decided to return this summer gor another stay. Right from the moment of our arrival, we were welcomed by the friendly warden, who told us all we needed to know. The site was immaculate and had everything we needed. We made use of the somewhat quirky free showers and toilets, but really rather enjoyed these more simplistic facilities. The more traditional shower blovk was excellent as well. Our pitch was huge, with outstanding views of the mountains around us. The pitches are nicely spaced out and it was great to see children being able to run around without fear of invading anyone else's space. The location of the site is brilliant- a short journey to the town of Barmouth and access to the pub, shop and fish and chip shop of a neighbouring site. But the jewel in the crown has to be the short walk through the dunes to the truly stunning Bennar beach, with its views of the Llyn peninsula, which is particularly striking at sunset. Although there was plenty to do to keep us occupied, we felt truly relaxed in these wonderful surroundings. We can't wait to return!

I went with my son (9). What a lovely campsite, in a fantastic beautiful spot, amazing views. Right by the beach, lovely walk through the sand dunes and along the beach. Lovely clean toilet/shower facilities. Neighbouring camp site 6mins walk, has a restaurant, shop and bar.... pub has a big play area for kids and games machine. The another site 6 min drive has the same again with a little bowling alley, plenty to do if the weather is terrible. We had a week of awful winds so take plenty of big heavy duty pegs... . Despite the terrible weather, it was just lovely. The lovely site warden (Paul) so very helpful as I didn't get my welcome email (I probably deleted it by mistake) with my pitch number so helped me straight away, very much appreciated. I will be coming back... thankyou from Sarah & Theo xx

Lovely site.stayed here many years ago but now with upgraded toilets etc.great spot close to beach.the new camper toilets need to be adjusted as not big enough and the camp kitchen needs a roof ideally .would stay again

A very clean site. Good, clean facilities a friendly and helpful warden( paul ). Close to a great beach. You have the use of the facilities of an adjacent site. Pub,restaurant, chippy, swimming pool. Short drive to Barmouth ir Harlech. We arrived during a storm and we were glad we toughed out to enjoy nice weather in a fantastic area. Highly recommended.

Lovely site and we had a great time. There are a couple of things though.. the toilets at the campervan side are tiny apart from the much larger disabled toilet. Hot water was hit and miss in the showers. Although there is a staff office there we did not see anyone there all the time we were there.

A lovely location with a beautiful beach on the doorstep. Our electric hook up pitch was spacious and well maintained and the facilities were beautifully clean. We'll definitely stop here again.

We had 4 nights here - we will be back! Really helpful staff, immaculate facilities and great access to trains, buses and walking paths. The walk to the beach is a pleasure. The site is so peaceful and relaxing. The views are spectacular. The free showers were super hot and easy to use. The outside facilities were our favourite. It helped the weather was amazing. Just really nice touches like a light for evening and soap and hot water always available. The dish washing space was again immaculate. A light for doing dishes at the end of the day was helpful. I cannot understand any negative reviews. Thank you for a really relaxing and happy stay!

Lovely sunny weekend spent a day sat in the dunes out of the wind and away from people. A loo seat in the unisex toilet would have been better. As the ladies loo has no room to sit down.

Went to Bennar By the Beach this last week and would return. It is a self-sufficient site, but if you need the management, you can contact them on Instagram and they will get back to you. We were lucky with the weather, it was sunny with only a little bit of rain and wind. Close to the beach, so you can go for a wander by the sea. The first part is pebbly, so dont wear your best shoes! Ample room for our van and awning, for which we were extremely grateful. No one wants to sit on their neighbours door step. It was peaceful and quiet and when you are blessed with a clear sky, you can count the stars for hours. Taxi's are £15 to Barmouth if you dont take a car and dont have a drive away awning. POG taxis were brilliant. One small point, my husband got locked in the shower block. He couldn't get out. It was empty, so I went in and shut the door, I couldn't get out either. He has rheumatoid arthritis, so I can clarify it was nothing to do with his hands. Door was a bit sticky, could do with a bit of WD40 maybe? That said, the showers were always clean and warm, £1 for 6 mins, loos were also always clean and tidy. Please visit, you won't regret it.

Loved this campsite ,great that you can walk to beach in minutes and access to footpaths for lovely walks. The facilities are very good and loved the quirky touches around the site. Paul the warden was very helpful when we arrived . This is a cracking site and will definitely book again .

My second visit to Bennar camp site and not my last. The site is well maintained every thing you need ie clean showers and washing stations. It is a two minute walk to a great beach.

First time I stayed at Bennar I would happily stay again. Great location for traveling to nearby towns or just a short walk to the beach. Facilities are good & plenty of space for campervans.

First time on the site and been trying to get here for many years but something always changed the plans. What a great site and good facilities. The check in online was swift and simple After being a last minute decision the booking and payment was very easy. The site was clean and facilities are spotless. We will return and stay again. Lovely peaceful campsite. Nice clean toilet/shower block, showers £1 coin, code to get into them given when booking confirmed. There is another toilet/shower block in between the two fields but the toilets are compact, slightly bigger would be better and there didn't seem to be any lights. 2 dishwashing areas, these would be nicer if undercover. Beautiful views and a gentle walk over on a boardwalk over the dunes to an amazing beach. Bus to Barmouth and walk beach back. mile walk to a pub in village, this has a walk behind following the waterfall river. 10mins to one at a camp next door. sunsets on beach are beautiful. we will definitely return. price was very good for our break with friends.

Just back from a relaxing 3 nights. Such a peaceful site with great views and a wonderful beach. We got a bus into Barmouth and walked the beach back. Toilet & shower block nice and clean, a code for entry and showers £1 coin. Smaller toilets and showers at the end of the tourer field a little small in the toilet cubicle and no lights. 2 dishwasher areas, would be nice if they were undercover. We were there with friends and their dog in 2 campervans. Plenty of walks, pub a mile away up the lane or one on the campsite 10 mins away. Will definitely return to see the beautiful sunsets.

We have just stayed three night at Bennar camp site in our camper van. Great location, views are stunning, only a very short walk to an amazing beach. Plots are very generous you don’t feel cramped at all. There is a lovely clean shower and loo block, showers cost a £1 lovely and warm and plenty long enough, or if you prefer a more rustic shower and toilet facilities they are also kept very clean too. I did have one issue that the pot washing station could be under cover for rainy days, however l wouldn’t let that stop me visiting again. All in all great value camp site.

What a lovely campsite. The location is fantastic 5 minute walk from a lovely Sandy beach. I was there mid March so the site was quiet which was great. Facilities are all good, rustic but good. Plenty space on the motorhome field and a great price. Definitely be back. Thank you

As always we’ve had a great time campsite excellent walk to beach and beach itself outstanding. Only difficulty getting pushchair onto beach over stone although grandson laughed at our struggles.

We spent two days at the end of the season in October, in a caravan new to us. The staff on site went beyond the call of duty to help us with a few teething problems. I cannot speak more highly of them.....looking forward to next season at Bennar.

This site has good access to the beach and the facilities are clean. The outdoor facilities could really benefit from a roof. The touring motor home area does not have hard standing which could be problematic although we were OK. We were puzzled that we couldn’t select our own pitch as it wasn’t busy and we gained the impression possibly wrongly that the AI organised everything as there is no human presence on the site other than the cleaners from 10.30-11.00am.

Great site with easy access to the beach, however the "outside" toilet and shower block was a to small to be comfortable and b extremely wet when it rains. An additional roof perhaps?. The other shower and toilet block was lovely. All areas kept very clean. A good site even slightly out of season.

The dark skies at night make it great for star gazing, we event spotted a satellite. Fantastic beach just a 5 minute walk away where we were lucky enough to spot some dolphins on our last day. Love the site and the position of it by the beach. The one lot of toilets are too small for those of us who are tall, I could not sit straight on the loo!!! Also to many groups of people who were noisy way past mid night let alone 10pm. Still like the site and hope to return

Stayed for Bank Holiday weekend. Nice site, not overcrowded. Great location for beach and a short walk to the station to catch a train further afield. Clean and warm shower and toilet facilities, with small overflow showers and toilets if needed. Would come again

Really enjoyed our stay at Bennar. The site is in a great spot-just a stone’s throw from a beautiful beach. The site was clean and tidy, well maintained and very friendly. We really liked how the camping spots were all numbered and marked out so we weren’t too close to other campers. The only negative was the fact we were there in the middle of Storm Lilian! We definitely plan to return for another stay!

Lovely clean, safe, and tidy site with a mix of touring and seasonal campers. Brilliant access to beach - literally five minute easy walk. Peacefully quiet, all we could hear was the sea. Site next door has good shop, take away, chip shop - turn left out of entrance and it’s on rhs. About 15/20 walk to main road where you can catch a bus into Barmouth or Harlech. Can recommend Mermaid Chip Shop opposite bus terminal in Barmouth - best we’ve had. Could keep going with this review but think it sums everything up when I say we shall be back.

Great location quite near the dunes and beach. However for a simple grass pitch with electric hookup we thought it very expensive for the limited facilities. The nearby showers were cold despite repeated attempts to get them to work and with the wind the water went everywhere. Toilets clean but not enclosed and mine didnt lock. There is another shower block (payment extra) at the end of the caravan field but it was closed for cleaning when I visited so can't comment. Paid £100 for 2 nights with dog. We would've requested a part refund for the poor facilities but nobody was there when we left at 11am. Felt disappointed.

Location is fantastic. Facilities are not what I would expect for £40 per night for a small 1 person tent. The hot water didn't work, the gas water heater kept blowing out, so needs shielding from the wind. The showers are poorly designed. The shower rose should be lower than the top of the screens so the water isn't blown around so much. Also with the rose being in the wind, while getting dried and dressed, the remaining water in the rose is blown out all over clothes and towel. Not great after a cold shower. The toilet cubicles are very small, was it built for a smaller toilet? The locking peg was missing from the gents toilet. I know it's an improvement on what was before, but, it should be right. If a member of staff had been onsite, perhaps these issues would be fixed as part of ongoing maintenance. I didn't see any staff during my stay.

After paying £110 for 4 nights without electricity it was a bit galling to then receive an email stating "Remember to bring £1 coins for the showers." On arrival we found there were outdoor showers that could be used for free, but after such an expensive and very small pitch it was irritating. The pitch we were allocated was very sloping and a challenge to get level even with ramps for a small campervan. The people who arrived to be on the next pitch left to rang the owner as it was too sloping for their tent. I was expecting a site that had good eco credentials after reading "We believe in a greener future and really hope our campsite will allow our guests to enjoy our beautiful coastal corner of North Wales in a sustainable way. " however the showers that cost a £1 are for a fixed 6mins, regardless of how long you need, this is not a very sustainable practice. The toilet block didn't have lights on a sensor or switches so they could be turned off then not in use. The outdoor showers were powered by gas, not a solar panel in sight. The toilets which are closest to the camping field are as other reviewers have stated, very small and even as a 170cm woman difficult to sit down without knees bashing against the door. Sadly after over 40years visting this site we won't be going back.

We had a great time camping at Bennar, with our 5 children & puppy, earlier this week. We had a generous corner pitch with electric. The site was tidy & clean, with plenty of space for to play games. I met the owner not long after arriving & was pleasantly surprised to learn we also had use of the site next door, where there was a park for the children & clubhouse with entertainment. We were possibly the furthest pitch away from the beach, but even then, it’s a very short & lovely walk to the sea. The site is very casual, which was fine for us & there was no check-in procedure. We knew our pitch number & where everything was from a previous, well written email. Just turned up & got set up. The only thing that would have made our stay even better would have been a proper toilet & shower block closer to the camping field. There are toilets & showers & as lovely as they are, they’re not enclosed. Going to the toilet on a wet seat, whilst being rained on, wasn’t the best experience. Generally though we had an amazing time & we will definitely be booking again!

Took our touring caravan for a 4 night stay in August and was the perfect location for easy access to the beach and the train up and down the coast. Site very clean with good facilities. Thank you.

Stayed here for 3 nights with my husband and 2 children, we will definitely be coming back. We loved the site- close to the beach, close to a shop, pub and acardes. Great facilities on site too. We will be recommending this site to all our friends and will be returning next year 100%. Paul was very helpful when we arrived and explained everything to my husband.

Had a lovely two night stay our pitch was amazing - watching the beautiful sunsets. Showers were fab. Beach 10 minutes away, able to use the seaside estates facilities restaurant and bar there’s also a well stocked shop, fish n chip shop and ice cream parlour a few minutes walk from the site. Train into Barmouth took 8 minutes @£4. Lovely lovely stay we will be back x

Cracking campsite very close to the beach. Easy to book online. We didn't really need to but we went to the old shower block & paid a £1. We didn't like the shower mat but apart from that the shower is good. The road to the campsite is narrow so just be wary of oncoming traffic. Bit pricey but then again what isn't these days!

We had a lovely stay, Main toilet block clean and lovely staff! Outside toilets a bit small but still a bonus if you are in a hurry. Beach is a stones throw away! With a beautiful wooden pathway to it! We had a small fire while watching the beautiful sunset. Shop just a 5 min walk to a neighbouring estate. Fires off ground welcome! Almost perfect!! I’d only would appreciate more trees on the site, it would be perfect then! Thank you!

Camp site was good, however when I arrived at the pitch the previous occupants had left their unwanted rubbish, mainly an old cooker hiding a burnt patch of grass and assorted rubbish. It may be a good policy for you to check the pitches before new arrivals. Unfortunately I was not able to stay for the full duration as my tent was damaged on the Sunday night, but I would return, time permitting

Know area very well but it was the first time staying here. Only did a couple of nights camping, but myself and the kids loved it. Can't knock the place. Will be definatley returning next year and staying for a week. 10/10

Large site with large pitches. Friendly helpful staff. Not enough toilets. The'extra' toilets are too small for a normal person to use. Please install grab handles for the ageing population.

Great camping trip. The views from the pitches were beautiful. The only negatives are the shower where you have to pay £1 for 6 minutes that were far too hot for my liking. But other than that our stay was great. Worth the money.

We have enjoyed our stay at Bennar. We appreciate that the owners let their customers, just enjoy their holiday! The improvements to the site are amazing! The only slight issue I had, was the new toilet/shower by the office, there really isn't much room to change, without knocking elbows! Lol

Had a lovely few days at Bennar campsite. Location is fab, amazing beach and walks. Showers were very hot at times with no temperature control meaning that you are not able to stand under the water without being scalded.

Had a two night stay in july with my daughter's and three young grandchildren. Lovely site quiet and peaceful great location beautiful beach 5 min walk away. Only issue we had was the showers couldn't get a constant heat went from freezing to scolding which adults could cope with but was not ideal with young children. This said I would definitely come to the site again.

The revamped shower and toilet block is amazing! Very clean and HOT water. My parents have attended Bennar by the Beach for 35+ years but were amazed to see such great upgrades. The grass needs a mow. But overall great stay as they were able to accommodate our needs. See you in August!

A quiet and peaceful site with easy access across sand dunes to a long, clean dog friendly beach. Good sized pitches. When we arrived no one to greet us but a gentleman kindly took me to meet Paul who gave us basic information and reassured me we could pay the next day. The main shower block is pleasant and clean and showers were hot (£1 for a shower about 5mins.) However the campsite showers and toilets, which were nearer our caravan, were difficult to use, and would be impossible for anyone with a disability as the toilets are very small, barely room to turn round! The door locks were awkward to use. The showers were ok but again small and difficult to dry yourself as the shower head carried on dripping even after it was turned off. I had trouble paying on line. We did enjoy our stay but would avoid the campsite showers if we came again.

We visited here lovely place we had such an amazing weekend plenty to do there's a pub and amusement arcade for the kids up the road and the beach is right by there to witch is such a lovely beach with Barmouth Town close by too. Wish we could of stayed longer the site is well maintained and clean wash area perfect toilets a little small but otherwise brilliant will definitely be coming back soon

Great campsite,a lot of campsites wouldn't allow jet skis,this one did and for no extra charge 👍..Paul the owner was on top form too, very helpful with local information and also sorted us out with a fire pit too ..great stay

Nice campsite close to the beach which is always good. We did have a minor problem when the world and his wife descended on and around our pitch. This was resolved after number of phone calls. A site manager would benefit the site, in my opinion all good sites have people not remote third party contact points

Not having camped for forty years, we were a little apprehensive of what we would find.the site was perfect well marked out generous sized pitch.Every thing was so peaceful and scenery to die for.The toilets,water and dish washing areas were basic but met the needs required.Only fly in the ointment was a total lack of disabled toilets, and the reason we came home early.if the experience of bennar could be bottled there would be no need for antidepressants.Next time we will go electric ⚡️ the staff could not have been more welcoming,or helpful,a perfect bit of heaven.

Hmmm… how to put it together so it doesn’t look too good as fake 🙂 It’s a wonderful site, with one of the best accesses to the see and dog friendly long beach - and mountains just behind you. With all the (people and caravan needs) facilities well thought through, easy to use and clean, lady on the phone always helpful and answering phone (that means a lot, cause from one point of view as a guest you don’t feel overwhelmed with owners eyes and don’t feel abandoned either). We’ve been visiting every year since 2012. Firstly with tent, now caravan. And now… for those who remember older times of this site, we did have sad/disappointing times, when previous owner was bitter, grumpy and complaining. Now whatever and whoever has changed, this site is blooming. No matter what weather, we always enjoy, having this place as safe, friendly, quiet, welcoming. CU next time - Ella, Pete and Maya PS. 5 mins walk to local shop, Local pub next to, Chippy next to both as well (one minus, chippy quite expensive and opened only 5-9pm, but hey, what’s not expensive these days).

Just had an amazing three night stay at Bennar Beach. Great location with beach walks minutes away. Good clean facilities. I am 6ft5 tall and managed to use the small new loos. We will definitely return.

This is a great site with a brilliant proximity to the beach the facilities are good and clean ,the booking is well run on line but on site presence is not obvious . During our stay on group turned up and put five tents up on one pitch and another group of lads turned up playing music realy loud and we could hear the base all over the site . Spoke to the booking team who texed the management and had no contact to say if anything had been resolved .

Lovely clean site. We chose Bennar beach as it was a peaceful quiet camp site and dog friendly. Close proximity to the beach and lots of nearby days out too, it really was lovely. The larger shower blocks were brilliant for 6 minute showers! The site was clean at all times and well maintained. We'll be back again, thankyou!

We enjoyed the site especially the location nr the beach. It's closeness to the train station also was beneficial. However the toilets at the entrance we unfit for use hard to collect door impossible to sit to use. It was explained they were incorrectly installed but they were still there and two toilets for the number of campers simply inadequate.

I'm a regular visitor to this campsite now...it's my 'go to' destination! Great new shower & toilet block! Always clean and tidy, with great access to the beach.

Been going to Bennar for years and was good to see how the site has changed for the better. Bit of a price jump but I guess that’s the way of the world at the moment.

I have been using this site for over 30 years but must admit that recent improvements are now starting to show results and making our visits more enjoyable. The online booking system is easy and convenient too; another welcome addition.

Great site, great customer service and we extended our stay upon site because we both loved it. Thank you for such a relaxing holiday.

This campsite was in a great location, just a short (beautiful) walk to the beach and a pub within walking distance, only a short drive to Barmouth too. We had three pitches together as family camping together, they were very accommodating putting us together. The field had beautiful views of the mountains all around and was very clean. The facilities were very good, the indoor and outdoor showers were piping hot, the bathrooms were cleaned every day. The campsite was quiet from 10 which was ideal, although there was a group partying on the first night, they went home the next day so it wasn't an issue. There were drinking taps throughout and a brilliant cold shower at the gate to the beach for rinsing off wetsuits/dogs that was super handy. Met some lovely people and we'd definitely stay again.

We stayed 3 nights, nice welcome from Paul. Good location closed to the beach, thought the outside showers and toilets quirky, ok in good weather. Not a good idea to have tents and Motorhomes next to each other as voices from tents annoying even though they were only talking, albeit loudly. Would visit again.

Fantastic! Loved the hassle free arrival system. Being allocated a pitch in advance is great and no messing about on the day. My pitch (115) was lovely and spacious. Field was very clean and tidy and the bin areas clean and well organised. Brilliant location right by the beach and near to the next campsites shop, restaurant etc. 2 nights was not enough, will definitely be back.

Lovely campsite 5 min walk to the beautiful beach & sand dunes. Toilets/shower block very clean. The little metal outside toilets are abit of a squeeze if your over 5ft 7 but not a massive problem. We'll definitely be back. Thank you 😊

I know you'll already know this but who on earth designed those wood/galvanised sheet toilet cubicles?! I'm 5"2" tall and no-one much taller than that would be able to sit on the loo facing forward without grazing their knees and, if anyone wanted to lean forwards, they'd brain themselves on the (beautifully painted and wonderfully robust) door! BUT we loved the fantastic location with wide open skies, mountains and the sea. Quiet after 10pm was respected by others and much appreciated by us.

Stayed 2 nights at this lovely campsite. Our second trip in our new Campervan and found the site had everything we needed. Great good sized pitch with lovely views. Very quiet. Couldn’t use outdoor shower facilities as no water so cannot comment. A canopy over the washing up area would be helpful when weather not so good. Actual shower block very good and clean (although entry instructions could be a little clearer). 5 minutes walk to fantastic beach. Would stay again and definitely recommend

Had the best time staying here. Pitch was immaculate, facilities were perfect. The mirror was a lovely touch! Plenty of water outlets etc. a short walk to the beach via a boardwalk and spent the whole day hanging out on the beautiful golden sands and swimming in the ocean. Good vibes all round and plan to return next year!

Bennar is a fabulous site, with great basic amenities, shower, toilet, washing up area, post-beach cubicles. Site is well maintained. Sister site a short walk away with restaurant, bar, cafe, fish & chip shop and basic store. Entertainment peak season. Beach is a five minute walk from the site, just turn left as you leave site. Beach is a stunning sandy beach, dog friendly. EHU pitches available, pay for dogs, lovely open field. Pitches are a good size, not very level, but size allows you to find best position to pitch up. Good value for money 💰

Came with family & friends - first time ever camping! Children absolutely loved it. The weather was glorious, and the campsite was spotless. We had an option to use the posher toilets and showers for £1, or just the basic ones. We stuck with the basic facilities and they were perfect. The beach was just a short 5 minute walk away, and a fully stocked shop was just a short walk too. Bennar campsite was the perfect place for our first camping experience!

Lovely stay, good location, toilets clean although camping ones could do with being a little bigger. A different booking system is required we would have stayed longer but didn’t want to move pitches for the 3rd time in a 5 night stay.

We booked for 3 nights but only stayed 2 due to an unusually wet weather warning The site is in a fabulous location. Just a short walk to the lovely beach. There is a well stocked shop a short walk away along with a very well stocked butchers and grocers a short cycle ride up into the village. The site is very clean, the outdoor shower and toilet block a welcome addition, although they are all very tight on space. There is a separate undercover shower and toilet block available although we didn't visit this. The site is unmanned but someone is available each morning or by phone. We would totally recommend this beautiful and peaceful site as it is great value for money.

Just back from our first camping trip and could not have chosen a better site. It was so relaxed and comfortable, really nice facilities and perfect location. Can't wait to book again

Lovely site, excellent facilities which were clean and newly painted. Only a few minutes walk to the beach, perfect for dog walks. Seemed to get an amazing deal on the price, don't know if it was because I was a 'new' customer. Normal price (£30 without ehu) is more than we would usually pay.

We had a great stay at Bennar, the location is fantastic with a footpath to one of the best beaches we have ever seen, we have a dog that loves the beach and the sea so this was our ideal site. We were greeted by Paul who told us where everything was and that was a big help. we arrived on Wednesday afternoon in the campervan field and there was only one other van there when we arrived, the views were fantastic and we sat outside past darkness. Everything was great until Friday when the field started to fill, when it was half full it became obvious that the facilities were lacking, there aren't enough toilets or showers for a half full site, high season must be impossible. we would go back off season but not when its busy.

I always love my stay at Bennar and have been visiting this site for about 35 years now. Recently some changes have been made to the showers and toilets and while these are a very welcome improvement from the previous porta loos I do feel who ever designed the toilets could of put a little more thought into the size of the cubicle. I'm 5'4"tall and when seated on the loo my knees were pressed against the door this made things a little tricky and I was leaving the door ajar. Please Bennar see if this can be changed it's such a shame as there has obviously been a lot of money spent on these alterations. I am very impressed with the showers and washing up facilities on site and love your little camp site. I am already looking forward to my next visit later this year .

We stayed at Bennar from the 3rd-6th May. It was a lovely site just a lovely short walk to beach so location was perfect. Our only criticism would be if the ‘camping’ toilets which we were very disappointed in. There was no room in there whatsoever and lord help you if it rained! The toilet block further down the site was lovely it’s a pity there couldn’t be another one of those installed. Other than that we had a lovely stay and I’m sure we will be back

Had a wonderful stay at Bennar Beach campsite, enjoyed it so much we have rebooted a few nights. Toilet/showers are spotless, as we're the Toilet cubicles and "outside" showers. Short walk to miles of beautiful beach and the sunsets were amazing

Really lovely stay on a super friendly site. Located a bit further main national park but no shortage of walks from flat coastal, castles and plenty of hills. The beach is really nice and very close. Really happy to spend time here and look forward to a return.

Very clean hot showers, the beach was only a short stroll.The booking was very easy and professional as we received directions, pitch number and all we needed to know within hours.We will book again peaceful, tranquil and beautiful view of the mountains. What a great site to visit. Unfortunately only for one night. I had called a few other sites and none answered or an automated message said they were closed. I called the Bennar number and a lady called Kay answered straight away. She took our details and directed us to book on the website. It was really easy, specified which day (it was last minute) and paid. An email arrived immediately which specified - directions to the site, which pitch, what the code was for the shower block and we pulled up - a really tidy site, the facilities are clean and modern and there's a beach 5mins walk away! What more could you ask for! 10/10

Super campsite and we will definitely stay again. Wonderful world class beach, great views of the hills. 30 minute walk to a great pub. Easy access to beautiful walking in the Rhinogs. Just one small suggestion: the new toilets are a few inches too short for comfort as my knees hit the door, and the roof overhangs were not wide enough to stop the rain getting in (weather was pretty wild).

This is a gem of a site, close to beach and the owners are fabulous. I decided to have a seasonal pitch now my van in storage there ready for year. Xxx

Easy arrival and found our pitch easily. Good sized pitch with water and electric within easy reach. Site very quiet as we arrived during a storm and at the end of October. Very near the beach with lovely walks around the coast and inland. Local shop nearby and a pub in the next village. We did use the facilities whilst here lovely and clean (apart from the disgusting people who use the toilets as don't clean up after themselves) very annoying as there where less than 10 people on site! Dog had a wonderful time too. Only negative - please reduce the shower time for those not needing 6 minutes as I felt awful leaving the shower running when i only needed 2 minutes. A stop button perhaps - £1is annoying when you pay for EHU.

Stayed here for 3 nights and what a perfect site. The facilities were the best I've ever seen and everyone was so friendly. Loved that the beach was so close and there are also some lovely walks all around.

Very much enjoyed our stay at Bennar this is the second time of visiting beautiful beach just a short walk away from campsite which was ideal lovely clean toilet and shower block looking forward to returning in the near future can’t fault it thank you.

Had a great time camping at Bennar. Easy to book, great field for camping, lovely shower & toilet block, beach and pub and shop within walking distance. Could hear the waves as we went to sleep - definitely recommend.

Great stay, fantastic location right by the beach, excellent toilet and shower facilities. Just had to cut our trip short by a day due to storms.

A two night stay while we worked on the boat at Shell Island. Good info, found the pitch in the dark with no problems , facilities are as good as they always have been and am loving the on-line booking . Will definitely be back. Regards, Ian.

Booked via Pitch Up. Great location, clean tidy campsite with large pitches. EH and Water on a Post on pitch. Its 5 mins walk to the Beach. There are no staff on site apart from 1 hour in morning. The lack of warden was not a big issue tho on out last evening some dog owners with yappers arrived, who would have benefited from a chat. All in would recommend.

Spot not to be missed, with best access to the beach you could imagine. Quiet, clean, pet friendly… and recent upgrades making it so comfortable. We come back here other year, always this place. As important as place, lady running it - lovely, helpful and understanding. A+++

Campsite was clean, the ground was a little uneven in places. Next door to a wonderful clean beach. The toilet area in the part we stayed had several toilets and two showers modern and clean only little down fall would be when getting dry those using the toilets are able to see you. It would benefit cubicles built in with the showers. But it wouldn't stop us from coming back in September

Stayed here a couple of times this year on the camping field. Lovely quiet site with beautiful views. Porta loo x 2 on field, water and EHU. New shower block, washing up sink and toilets in next field. Easy walk to a stunning beach. Sunsets to die for. Our new go to place.

My wife and I have visited the camp site on a number of occasions and have had some fantastic times in the area, a lovely stroll over the dunes to the beautiful beach, we tend to turn right and head up to the naturist part of the beach, a lot quieter and a lovely breeze. A short taxi ride takes you into the town of Barmouth where there’s some lovely pubs for good food and drink, all in all this place is a complete gem, look forward going back in the near future, behind the stone wall.

This campsite was definitely one of the best I've been too. the beach sunset was absolutely gorgeous and my entire family agreed when I said that the facilities were incredible.we were able to get walk to the beach in less than five minutes and could stay there for as long as we liked. definitely coming here again!

It's always been a brilliant spot but even better now with all the recent improvements. Look forward to visiting again later this summer.

Absolutely superb. Have camped here many times over the years but first time staying with the upgraded pitches, shower block and wash up facilities and the outdoor showers for when you come off the beach are so handy. Competitively priced too! Shell Island may be a little cheaper but this campsite is far superior and kept clean and tidy. Already booked our next trip and will definitely be using this site as our go to escape as often as we can throughout the camping season.

"My husband and I, our two children and Yellow our dog spent a wonderful 7 nights at Bennar in September. The beach is less than a 5 minute walk away and is beautifully clean and dog friendly. We had various trips out in the car and especially enjoyed Harlech Castle and the slate caverns in Blaeunau Ffestiniog. We had a nice meal at the Norbar and enjoyed a beautiful sunset from the patio. The Garreg caffe in Llanfrothen is also worth a visit."
